A Chicago shooting left one person dead and four others injured in Back of the Yards on the South Side, the fire department said.

CHICAGO -- Five people were shot, one fatally, in Back of the Yards on Tuesday afternoon, the Chicago Fire Department said.

The South Side shooting happened near West 48th Street and South Ada Street, fire personnel said. One person was killed and four others were reported in serious to critical conditions.Two people were transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center. One person was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and another was taken to Stroger Hospital.
