One classic Toho villain from Godzilla's movies would be a great addition to Legendary's MonsterVerse, but only if he were to be used as a hero.
A classic Toho villain would make for a great addition to the MonsterVerse – if he was introduced as a hero. So far, Legendary has only adapted two members of Godzilla’s rogues’ gallery into his MonsterVerse films. Ghidorah and Mechagodzilla stand alone in this regard, but should receive more company the longer the MonsterVerse continues.
In terms of picking which villains to use next, Toho has no shortage of exciting options. Several sport interesting designs that wouldn’t need much reworking to be translated to Godzilla and Kong’s cinematic world. Destoroyah, Gigan, and Biollante are all excellent examples of classic Godzilla villains that deserve representation in the MonsterVerse. Other, lesser-known antagonists, such as Hedorah and Megalon, could also work out well for a Godzilla movie, if used correctly.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Titanosaurus Isn’t Evil In Toho’s Godzilla Movies Remembered as the aquatic kaiju villain who teamed up with Mechagodzilla in Terror of Mechagodzilla, Titanosaurus is quite different from what his reputation suggests. What’s often forgotten or overlooked about the character is that he’s not a true villain in any sense and shouldn’t be depicted as one if brought into the MonsterVerse.
Since Titanosaurus has only been in one movie and was never given a chance to show his true colors, he hasn’t been able to erase his status as a Godzilla villain. That could change if he were to join the MonsterVerse. As an ocean-dwelling monster who keeps to himself, Titanosaurus would have to be mind-controlled again – or changed significantly – in order for a villainous role to be justified.
What Titanosaurus’ MonsterVerse Story Could Be If Legendary purchased the rights to Titanosaurus, the kaiju could appear in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire or perhaps a different MonsterVerse installment. Either way, a team-up with Godzilla is indeed possible, especially if he feels his ecosystem is under threat. According to MonsterVerse lore, the Earth is home to at least a few benevolent Titans, giant monsters who serve the balance of nature.
