A suspect is being held without bond in the death of 17-year-old Dwaine Thomas, who was set to graduate from Carver High School in a couple of weeks.
Formal charges have been filed against an 18-year-old in the fatal shooting of a Carver High School senior.
Goree was booked into the Jefferson County Jail at 8:33 p.m. Wednesday and remains held without bond.when the officer saw a physical altercation taking place in the parking lot of the complex. Thomas, police said, “was getting the best of the suspect,’’ during the altercation. Thomas was found on the ground between two cars and suffering from a gunshot wound, Mauldin said. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 5:55 p.m.
