Two people were shot in a parking lot at Worcester State University in Massachusetts around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, said authorities. Neither the victims nor the suspected assailants are students at the university, said a spokesperson for the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office. Worcester is located approximately 40 miles west of Boston. A shelter in place order was put in place by officials at the university shortly after the shooting, and was lifted just before 9:30 a.m. this morning.
The Worcester County District Attorney’s Office is urging anyone with information, photos, or video around the two student dormitories - Wasylean Hall and Sheehan Hall - to share it with Massachusetts State Police, University Police, and Worcester Police. Stokes said some students have already submitted videos of the shooting to police after they heard gunfire from the dorms.
