Ford doesn't even try to tell you otherwise. That's not what this truck is for. If your job sites are hours from home base or your business is hot shot commercial trailering, the Lightning isn't the right work truck for you. Go buy something gas- or diesel-powered. If you're a commercial buyer, you can order a Lightning Pro with the 131-kWh extended-range battery , which should get your range up to 320 miles and your horsepower up to 580 , though Ford isn't actually selling that configuration yet, and those numbers aren't official. Because that model doesn't exist, we can't test it, so we can only tell you how the standard Lightning Pro does against the stopwatch.
We certainly can't think of a commercial job that requires that kind of acceleration from a work truck, but with that kind of power behind it, you get why we say it's actually great for towing short distances. Give it the heaviest trailer it can handle, and the truck barely notices it's there.
