2023 Mercedes-AMG CLE Spied, Is It A 63 Variant? | Carscoops carscoops
on numerous occasions and now we’re getting our first glimpse at an upcoming AMG variant.
While the prototype doesn’t look too remarkable at first glance, there are a couple of telltale clues this is a performance variant. The most obvious are the bulging fenders, which are significantly wider than those found on previous prototypes. A closer inspection also reveals a larger intake and what appears to be a reduced ride height. The model also sports a temporary dual exhaust system, unlike previous prototypes where the tips weren’t visible.Spy photographers believe this is the range-topping 63 variant and that makes sense given its aggressive looks.
. Mercedes has already confirmed that model will have a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, a 6.1 kWh battery pack, and a rear-mounted electric motor that produces up to 201 hp . This setup will allow for outputs in excess of 644 hp . It’s also possible the prototype is using something else altogether as details about the CLE are still a bit hazy. That being said, the C- and E-Class Coupes and Convertibles are expected to be merged into one model, known as the CLE.
