is entering the homestretch and spy photographers stumbled onto a prototype parked outside a hotel.
This seemingly chance encounter was a blessing in disguise as the model is lightly camouflaged and reveals a handful of new details. One of the most notable is the presence of rear seats, which had been long rumored for the redesigned coupe.. However, like in the convertible, the rear seats are small and you’d probably never want to sit in them.The similarities to the SL extend beyond the cabin as both models have a similar exterior design.
This particular prototype features a rear charging port and a four-tailpipe exhaust system with squared-off tips, which indicates it’s the range-topping GT 63 S E Performance. As a result, it should have a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, a rear-mounted electric motor, and a 6.1 kWh battery pack. This should give the car a combined output of 831 hp and more than 1,032 lb-ft of torque.That won’t be the only plug-in hybrid variant as spy photographers have previously snapped the GT 53 E Performance.
