"I'm not going to be able to make the back of your hair perfect, because you keep moving," singer-songwriter Kehlani tells their three-year-old daughter Adeya before planting a kiss on her cheek; the 26-year-old singer-songwriter has released three studio albums, toured with Demi Lovato and Halsey and garnered a 2016 Grammy nomination, but in this moment, they're just a parent unwinding with their child during an early-morning hairstyling session.
During a scenic evening drive to Topanga Beach, Kehlani muses about what they want from their career, saying, "My biggest fear is that I will get to the end of my life and have regrets because I held back from doing all the projects I was excited about out of some fear of how big they wouldn't get." Their future appears limitless, but when it comes to music, photography, and time with family and friends, Kehlani is staying firmly rooted in the present.
