A 3-alarm fire at a Renton apartment complex that destroyed cars, an apartment building and displaced multiple people on Wednesday night reignited overnight.
Firefighters were called to the Fairwood Landing Apartments, which is located just south of Southeast Petrovitsky Road and 140th Avenue Southeast.
One woman who lives at the complex next to the building saw the flames engulf the carport. She says she called 911 and within a few minutes crews arrived. Many people in the area came by to see what happened and were heartbroken to see numerous people displaced by the fire. Theresa Young and Shelley Reynolds live close by. They say they have a friend who lives at the complex. Initially, they weren’t sure if it was their building impacted. But Young says it was beautiful to see many people jump in to help.
“It’s one of those things where the community really needs to rally, get together and help folks out as much as possible,” Amanda said.
