3-alarm fire in Central Austin was accidental: AFD

Austin fire said an accidental fire started at 4222 Elevator Drive was put out shortly after the call Monday morning.

The Austin Fire Department responded to a 3-alarm fire in Central Austin on Dec. 19.

AFD says there was heavy fire when they arrived at 4222 Elevator Drive, but the fire was later contained to the building where it started.Image 1 of 3AFD says the fire was accidental. It was caused by a plumbing procedure with flammable vapors too close to a space heater.
