3 injured in multi-vehicle crash in Kensington [Breaking]
A collision involving four vehicles left three people injured, one seriously, late Wednesday night in the Kensington area of San Diego, police said.
A driver heading north on Fairmont Avenue near Aldine Drive shortly after 10 p.m. was trying to merge into the far right lane when he clipped the rear of another car in the lane, San Diego police said. That caused the second car to lose control, drive over the dirt center median and go into the southbound lanes, where it was hit by a third vehicle. The first car then ran into a large construction truck parked on the east curb, police said.
The first driver, a 31-year-old man, complained of pain and was transported to the hospital. The second driver, a 31-year-old man, suffered serious internal injuries including a fractured pelvis, lacerated liver and kidney, police said. A 65-year-old man who was a passenger in the parked construction truck suffered a fractured sternum in the collision, police said.
