Alabama drivers will get some new tag options in October.

Fans of the Florida Gators will soon be able to show their pride on the back of their cars in Alabama.

The University of Florida specialized plate is one of three new tags that will be available Oct. 1. The others are tags for Vulcan Park & Museum and Oneonta Redskins. Net proceeds of the $50 annual fee for the Florida tag will go towards the Alabama general fund. Net revenue from the other tags will go to the Vulcan Park & Museum and Oneonta Foundation for Educational Resources, respectively.

In addition to tags for Alabama universities and community colleges, the Alabama Department of Revenue offers license plates for University of Georgia, University of Mississippi, Louisiana State University, Mississippi State University and Florida State University. There are a couple of other tag changes set for Oct. 1. National Guard license plates are being redesigned and the state is providing two separate license plates for ambulances and hearses.ADRNote to readers: if you purchase something through one of our affiliate links we may earn a commission.
