A 3-year-old girl fatally shot her 4-year-old sister in northwest Harris County on Sunday night, according to the Sheriff's Office.
The two children were in an apartment at 9955 Bammel North Houston with five adults when the 3-year-old found a loaded semi-automatic pistol in a bedroom and unintentionally shot her sister, authorities said. The 4-year-old died at the apartment. "A tragic situation, a very preventable situation," Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said at the scene."It just seems like another tragic story again of a child gaining access to a firearm and hurting someone else and this time it was a fatal shot it appears to be to her sibling.""Our hearts are broken," Gonzalez said."The community is impacted when a child loses their life in this way.
