San Francisco 49ers star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has officially requested a trade from the team after both parties have failed to agree on a contract extension. Though the 49ers presumably attempted to find common ground with Aiyuk multiple times, the star receiver is instead going to test the market.
Though he produced 748 yards and five touchdowns in 2020, he has only gotten better as the years have gone on. In 2023 alone, Aiyuk secured 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns.The wide receiver market has exploded this offseason with receivers like Miami Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle, Minnesota Vikings' Justin Jefferson, Detroit Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Philadelphia Eagles' A.J. Brown all getting extensions that pay them more than or around $30 million per season.
