Chicago police say that five people have died and at least 21 others have been hurt in shootings across the city so far this weekend.
A 30-year-old man was shot in the chest, and was pronounced dead at the scene by police.
A 34-year-old man was driving in the 3000 block of South Ashland Avenue at approximately 12:11 a.m. when he was shot in the lower back. He was taken to an area hospital in good condition, police said. Police say a 30-year-old man was driving in the 3900 block of West Grand Avenue at approximately 1:07 a.m. when he was shot by a person in another vehicle. The man was taken to an area hospital in good condition after being shot in the left leg and left arm.
