The RDR Switch port improves the original.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Though the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch port of Red Dead Redemption has seen pretty negative feedback from the RDR community, the title is not without its redeeming qualities. In fact, in many ways, the new port takes the classic title originally released in 2010 and breathes new life into it while still retaining the original experience from the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version.

5 The Red Dead Port Has A Higher Native Resolution Sure, it might seem obvious that a re-release of a game that was originally launched over a decade ago would have better graphics and higher resolution, but it's still worth mentioning. The new Red Dead Redemption has far superior graphics over the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. On the PlayStation 3, the game maxed out at 640p resolution, while on the Xbox 360, the game was limited to 720p.

In addition to having smaller text due to the size of the Switch screen, being able to adjust subtitle size is even more important for those not using headphones when playing on their Switch in public. While the game did not receive any new HUD or enhancements to existing in-game mechanics, adding text size sliders makes playing on a handheld device more viable.

2 Red Dead Redemption On PS4 And Nintendo Switch Introduces RDR To A New Generation While much can be said about the price point for the new Red Dead Redemption, there is one side effect of this that isn't often talked about. The fact that the new Red Dead Redemption release is, in many ways, the same experience people had when the original game was released on the PS3 over a decade ago.
