The housing complex includes 17 total buildings.
“We are excited to officially launch this vital community housing resource, which offers families with limited incomes an affordable and safe place to live,” Regina S. Mitchell, executive director of the York Housing Authority and secretary to the board of Creating Opportunities in Neighborhood Environments, said in a news release. “The 50-unit housing development will support sustainability, community connectivity, and the well-being of York City for years to come.
The new housing facilities replaced the 32-units of the Codorus Homes Complex, which was the first public housing developed in the city of York more than 60 years ago. In the second phase of the housing complex the first people moved in on April 26 and a grand opening celebration was held last month.
