Officers were called about 11:45 p.m. to the 3800 block of Earl Street and found a man dead on the ground with gunshot wounds to his upper body, police said.Paul Branton, 51, was later arrested on a murder charge in the slaying of 30-year-old James Jones of Fort Worth.
According to an arrest-warrant affidavit obtained by the newspaper, Branton told police that he’d been “stewing” about an incident several months earlier in which Jones had punched him at a bar during an argument about a woman.
