After reviewing San Antonio’s tacos, barbecue, burgers, pizza and food trucks, we’re putting 2022 between two slices of bread. Here are the results so far.
Again, the pizza here is amazing, so you cannot go wrong with the Pizza Sub , which has so much cheese it stretches to the sky with mozzarella goodness, and is anchored with spicy slices of pepperoni and that signature house tomato sauce that has a tangy kick that will keep you coming back. But anything on the pizza menu is superior to this, so that's what you should order.
Wicked Wich isn’t by mission or by menu a vegetarian operation, but damn if it doesn’t make a great vegan chickpea salad sandwich , stacked high with sprouts, lettuce, tomato, cucumbers, onions and pickles on soft multigrain bread. But the chickpea salad’s the real hero, made by Salazar from mashed garbanzo beans, paprika and vegan mayo for a spread that was cohesive, flavorful and filling.
