The healing process can spark a lot of learning.

, which causes a physical pain in the butt—to the major and frightening, like tearing all of my hamstring tendons off the bone at once. But through all of it, I’ve learned the hard way that injuries can be one of our greatest teachers. That is, if we are willing to truly listen and learn what they’re telling us.

Now, don’t get me wrong: There are less painful ways of learning these lessons, and I would certainly recommend doing everything you can to prevent injuries from occurring in the first place. But let’s be honest: You can do everything “right” and sometimes shit happens.find yourself sidelined, I encourage you to open yourself up to introspection and cozy up to all the learnings that come with the recovery process.

The absolute best way to come back from an injury is to not get one in the first place. The better you take care of your body from the start, the better position you will be in the long run. Of course, like I mentioned earlier, injuries can happen, even when you do all the preventive steps and do everything you can to prepare your body. And that’s why focusing on the positives of what you can learn from the experience—yep, all that comes below—is so important.The correct, educated diagnosis is crucial.
