Police found Shalom Guifarro's body inside her bedroom in a building on Lincoln Place in Crown Heights around 1 p.m. Sunday.
CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn -- An autopsy determined that a 9-year-old girl in Brooklyn died from blunt force trauma, the cause of death ruled a homicide, and charges are now pending against her mother.Detectives reported she had trauma to her body.
Detectives believe the mother called 911 after she disciplined the girl and put her in timeout, and the girl lost consciousness. Detectives have recovered several instruments from the apartment that could have been used for discipline.
