The investigation into the 6-year-old who shot his teacher is ongoing

School Superintendent Dr. George Parker also spoke at the press conference, where he noted that the school board was offering mental health support to the children who were present during the shooting, and was conducting a compliance investigation “so we can learn from it, not only from a procedural standpoint, but from a safety standpoint.” The elementary school does not currently have metal detectors, but Parker said that they would be exploring all safety options going forward.
