Joaquin Phoenix said his brother, the late River Phoenix, knew he would be an Oscars-nominated actor before he'd even appeared on the big screen: 'He didn't ask me, he told me.'

I wanted to have a good time. But I wasn't engaging with the world or myself in the way I wanted to. I was being an idiot, running around, drinking, trying to screw people, going to stupid clubs," he toldin 2017.
"Like so much of what's difficult is waking up every day and being obsessed over like 0.3 pounds. Right? And you really develop like a disorder. But I think the interesting thing for me is what I had expected and anticipated with the weight loss was these feelings of dissatisfaction, hunger, a certain kind of vulnerability and a weakness.
