A full list of all the chaos from Saturday's GMR Grand Prix
Jimmie Johnson, who was having an up and down day, spun in Turn 9 and stalled his car, bringing out the sixth full-course caution. It also bunched up the field, which had become spread out with the drivers who restarted on slick tires nearly half a lap ahead of the drivers who restarted on rain tires. Now a timed race, Scott McLaughlin had a series of laps to forget. The former Australian Supercars champion, attempted to restart on slick tires.
However, before coming to the green flag, McLaughlin spun in Turn 11, causing the restart to be waived off. Then, when the race did restart, McLaughlin spun again in Turns 3 and 4 and brought out full-course caution number seven. While running seventh, Juan Pablo Montoya brought out the eighth and final caution of the day with less than two minutes left. Montoya lost control exiting Turn 11 and slammed the wall. Montoya had driven as high as 6th from his 23rd place starting spot.
