High temperatures today could again reach 100 degrees or higher for those in south Alabama, and heat advisories will be in effect today for several counties.Alabama’s heat wave is set to continue today -- and it could be the hottest day of the year for parts of the state.
Temperatures are again forecast to head well into the 90s today, and there will be heat advisories in effect for Alabama’s southernmost counties. Highs in some areas could again hit the triple digits, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasters said today could be the hottest one of this heat wave for those in south Alabama.
In those areas the combination of heat and humidity could combine to cause heat illnesses in those that don’t take precautions. It will also be hot in central and north Alabama, but as of Thursday morning there were no heat advisories in place for those parts of the state. That’s because a weak cold front is expected to move through those areas, and it could knock temperatures down a few degrees and bring slightly drier air over that part of the state, the weather service said.🥵We know it's summer and all, but this whole record heat thing is getting old quick.
