Adam Warlock is finally making his live-action debut in Guardians of the Galaxy 3, possibly setting up the next iteration of the space-faring team.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has the perfect opportunity to set up a brand-new version of the eponymous space-faring team through the introduction of Will Poulter's Adam Warlock. After being teased in a post-credit scene of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Adam Warlock is finally about to make his live-action debut in the upcoming sequel, set to hit theaters on May 5th this year.
Despite his more villainous roots, Adam Warlock eventually became a hero after sacrificing his life in battle against the Mad Titan Thanos. However, his consciousness is preserved within the Soul Gem, which had been given to him by the High Evolutionary. This eventually leads to his resurrection ahead of the iconic Infinity Gauntlet storyline in 1991, which became the basis for the hit Marvel Cinematic Universe film Infinity War in 2018.
Warlock later joined several superhero teams, including the Annihilators. However, he is perhaps best known for his stint as a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. He joins the space-faring team after helping them defeat the villainous Phalanx army, but his time with them was tragically short-lived after being reverted to his villainous Magus personality once more.
Adam Warlock Would Be the Perfect Leader Of A New Guardians Of The Galaxy Team Even before his live-action debut, Adam Warlock is clearly the perfect candidate for the Guardians of the Galaxy's next leader. The character is a long overdue addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, having already missed his most important storyline from the comics.
