San Marcos police officer resigns, is arrested after family violence alleged
The San Marcos Police Department said the Hays County Sheriff’s Office notified it Monday of a criminal accusation related to family violence against officer Kyle Lobo.SAN MARCOS — A San Marcos Police Department officer resigned Thursday amid a criminal investigation by the Hays County Sheriff’s Office.
In a news release, the police department said the Sheriff’s Office notified it Monday of a criminal accusation related to family violence against officer Kyle Lobo. The police department placed Lobo on administrative leave, according to the release, and began a concurrent internal investigation while the Sheriff’s Office conducted an independent criminal investigation.
The Sheriff’s Office arrested him at the San Marcos Police Department after he submitted his resignation, according to the release. The arrest warrants were for continuous violence against the family and injury to a child.
