Ahsoka’s Jedi lineage is fraught with Jedi haters.
Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for Ahsoka episode 3.In Ahsoka episode 3, the droid professor Huyang makes a clever jab at Ahsoka Tano’s non-traditional Jedi lineage and how Sabine Wren fits right in. Having served the Jedi Order for millennium, it’s understandable why Huyang sees Ahsoka as strange, given how she walked away from the Order long before Order 66.
Huyang himself oversaw Yoda’s training hundreds of years before the Skywalker saga. He knew how rare Yoda’s species was among the Jedi, and how Yoda’s approach to training younglings was often filled with seemingly backward lessons that always managed to get his point across. All in all, Yoda was unlike any other Jedi in the Order. Although he was long gone by the time of Ahsoka, his teachings still lived on in Ahsoka and Luke.
In some ways, Qui-Gon was ahead of his time. Most Jedi never bothered studying the Prophecy of the Chosen One in-depth, yet Qui-Gon had looked into it long before he met Anakin Skywalker. While the Jedi Council shunned Qui-Gon for his unconventional beliefs and obsessions, Qui-Gon ultimately convinced them to indulge in training Anakin Skywalker as a Jedi.
Like Dooku before him, Anakin was seduced by Palpatine into seeing the shortcomings of the Jedi Order. There had been a handful of Jedi before him who left and fought against the Order, but Anakin went further than them all by attempting to single-handedly wipe out the Jedi once and for all. The Jedi Order had begun spiraling since Dooku’s time, and Anakin was merely the final byproduct of their failures.
