Wildfires smoke from western Canada are prompting another warning about air quality through Tuesday night.
Officials are warning residents to limit time spent outdoors, as another Code Orange Air Quality Alert has been issued for Tuesday for virtually all of central Pennsylvania, according to the Pa. Department of Environmental Protection.
The announcement was issued due to the lingering wildfire smoke from western Canada, which led to a Code Orange being issued for the entire state on Monday. Tuesday’s alert will run until midnight. Officials are advising children, people suffering from asthma, heart disease or other lung diseases, and the elderly to limit outdoor activities, as they are vulnerable to the effects of air pollution.
