Airlines, both domestic and abroad, have canceled more than 1,300 flights coming in and out of the Northeast due to continuing storms.
At least 1,344 flights coming within, in, or out of the United States have been canceled as of Sunday afternoon, according to FlightAware. Among the airlines canceling flights are Republic, JetBlue, United, and American Airlines.United Airlines and American Airlines, two of the U.S.'s major airline companies, have canceled 118 and 107 flights, respectively.
Most of the cancellations are out of Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey and John F. Kennedy International Airport, and LaGuardia Airport in New York.Severe weather prompted ground stops at the three airports, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. The National Weather Service shows"excessive rainfall" for several Northeastern states, with New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland"under the highest threat."

The National Weather Service also issued a tornado watch for areas in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, and Rhode Island on Sunday morning through 3 p.m. EDT.
