Latrell Wilson, 39, was sentenced to 17-to-22.5 years in prison in connection with the death of his 16-month-old daughter.
AKRON, Ohio — An Akron man was sentenced Monday to a minimum of 17 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to charges in the death of his 16-month-old daughter.
Latrell Wilson, 39, could spend as many as 22½ years after he pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and child endangering, according to Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh. Wilson was accused of the beating death of his daughter on Jan. 27, 2022, at a home on Edgewood Avenue in Akron. The girl’s mother came home to find the girl face-down in her crib and not breathing.
The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the child had suffered broken ribs, head trauma and “significant bruising.” The cause of death was either from smothering or from the physical beating, authorities say.If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
