The Asian Champions League will be a new stage for Cristiano Ronaldo. Together with Ronaldo, Al-Nassr is chasing the first continental trophy.

Al-Nassr completed the quartet of Saudi Arabian teams that made it to the top club competition in Asia. The other three Saudi clubs advanced directly to the group stage, namely Al-Hilal , Al-Ittihad , and Al-Fayha .Saudi Arabia is one of the four countries that sends the most ambassadors in this season's Asian Champions League. In addition to Saudi Arabia, the other three countries that are represented by four clubs are Uzbekistan, South Korea, and Japan.
In the upcoming draw, Al-Nassr will be placed in pot four of the West Region which includes teams from the Middle East, Central Asia, and South Asia. The West Region will consist of five groups from Group A to Group E.Being in a non-seeded pot opens up the opportunity for Al-Nassr to face former champions of the Asian Champions League, such as Esteghlal and Al-Sadd .
"We know that this competition will demand us to be able to give our best ability in every game. I will prepare the best team to face tough matches in the group phase," said Castor in a post-match conference reported on the club's website."Anderson Talisca, Al-Nassr winger, stated that the AFC Champions League is one of the competitions that Al-Nassr is targeting this season.
When the match had only been playing for 11 minutes, Talisca had already taken the lead with a header after receiving a corner kick pass from Brozovic. However, this advantage caused Al-Nassr to become complacent.In just two minutes, Shabab Al-Ahli got two best chances. First, midfielder Luka Milivojevic released a long-range shot that could be anticipated by Al-Nassr goalkeeper, Nawaf al-Aqidi, in the 17th minute.
Those two goals caused Al-Nassr to concede a pair of goals in their last three matches. Previously, they lost 1-2 to Al-Ettifaq and 0-2 to Al-Taawon in the Saudi Arabian League. Despite still showing weaknesses in the back line, Castro did not want to only blame his defenders."Football is a team game. We must continue to work on improving our defense mistakes. We have lost many key defenders due to injuries, so this condition has forced us to make a lot of changes," said Castro.
