Austin Armstrong, an Alabama native, soon could be a member of Nick Saban's on-field defensive coaching staff.
Armstrong, 29, is a native of York, Alabama who played football and baseball at the now-closed Sumter Academy. He was anArmstrong played linebacker at Division III’s Huntingdon College in Montgomery, graduating in December 2015. He thenat Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School while trying to find a college coaching job.
Armstrong said he called Hall’s office several times a day and had his cousin reach out to Hall’s father to secure an interview for a graduate assistant position at West Georgia, a Division II program, for the 2016 season.
