The Alabama Crimson Tide kicked off their first game in the Kalen DeBoer era, making it the first game in nearly 20-years without Nick Saban on the sideline.
On their second defensive possession of the game, Crimson Tide DB Keon Sabb intercepted a TJ Finley pass and returned it 23-yards to the WKU 16-yard-line, putting Jalen Milroe and the Tide offense in good field position.On just the second play of the drive, Crimson Tide QB Jalen Milroe took a 12-yard carry into the end zone for the first Alabama touchdown of the season.
The theme of the night early in the game for the Tide? Score quick. That’s exactly what they did on their first possession of the second quarter. In just two plays, the Tide ran for 79-yards, 40 from Jalen Milroe and a 39-yard touchdown run by Jam Miller, to extend the Tide lead to 28-0. On Simpson’s first possession of the game, the Tide did what they had been doing all night... score. Simpson led the Tide on a 6-play, 53-yard drive that was capped off by a Daniel Hill 2-yard run.
