However, under this act, students can take just two of each subject to focus on career and technical education courses. “We have a large percentage of students, I would say probably 50/50 who are not going to college, so how are we preparing them for the workforce and life after high school?,” Hinson asked.

Hinson has seen students’ science scores improve since introducing more career-based science courses.
