Disbarred South Carolina attorney Alex Murdaugh has pleaded not guilty to fatally shooting his wife and son. Defense lawyers agreed on Wednesday to ask the judge to deny Murdaugh bond, saying he can’t afford to post it anyway.

“He believes that the killer or killers are still at large and this would allow SLED to put this behind them and go for the real killers,” Harpootlian said. “The evidence in this case is substantial and it all points back to Alex Murdaugh,” Waters said. “There is forensic evidence as well as other evidence of his guilt of these murders.”
