George Lucas considered a different version of the final duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan in Revenge of the Sith - and it would have changed the saga.
An alternate ending for Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, preferred by Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen, would have had a massive impact on the Star Wars saga. George Lucas has always liked to pretend he had the entire Star Wars saga planned out for decades, but that's something of an exaggeration; while the broad details of the prequels were certainly planned out well before they began production, Lucas was a lot more spontaneous than he claims.
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith's theatrical cut treats Darth Vader and Obi-Wan almost as though they are equals. It is only when Obi-Wan gets what he perceives to be a tactical advantage that he believes he has won. In contrast, the alternate Mustafar duel views Anakin as far more powerful than Obi-Wan, with the new Dark Lord of the Sith disarming his old master as easily as he killed Cin Drallig. The Chosen One, a vergence in the Force, is only defeated by accident.
Obi-Wan's Accidental Victory Would Have Explained His Guilt This different version of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith would have accentuated Obi-Wan Kenobi's guilt. It's possible this version of the story saw Obi-Wan believe Darth Vader could be redeemed, at least initially. That would match well with dialogue in Return of the Jedi, in which both Obi-Wan and Darth Vader recalled the Jedi Master's hopes for redemption.
