American Airlines is debuting new service to Provo, Utah out of DFW Airport.

“We had a forward-looking vision when we built the Provo Airport,” said Michelle Kaufusi, mayor of Provo in a statement. “The monumental announcement of the arrival of American Airlines proves we were on their radar as much as our airport tower will soon be on theirs.”The intense backlash against Boeing after the near catastrophe aboard an Alaska 737 Max in January wasn’t a reaction to an isolated manufacturing error but to a yearslong decline of safety standards.
