Thompson will be joined by three other Southern California products (Savannah DeMelo, Trinity Rodman, Ashley Sanchez) as first-time World Cup participants.

Angel City FC forward Alyssa Thompson is among the 23 players selected for the U.S. Women’s national team roster for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

Also making the team is Bellflower native Savannah DeMelo. DeMelo, a midfielder with Racing Louisville FC, has yet to make an appearance with the national team.
