Archive81 has been canceled by Netflix after only one season, despite the show's critical acclaim.
Netflix has decided not to move ahead with a season 2 of science fiction mystery-horror Archive 81. Based on the podcast of the same name, Archive 81 stars Mamoudou Athie as Dan, a digital archivist hired by a mysterious company to piece together footage obtained from an apartment fire. After Dan begins piecing the recordings back together, he discovers a troubling secret — one linking him, with disturbing consequences, to both footage creator Melody and the fate of the doomed apartment.
The disappointing announcement means there's little chance that Archive 81's season 1 cliffhanger ending will be resolved, making its cancellation even more painful for show fans. Of course, there's always a chance that Archive 81 will be picked up by another platform, with horror channel Shudder increasing their original TV and movie programming of late, making it the perfect home for more Archive 81.
