Arkansas State Men's Golf will play in the Austin regional as a 12 seed.
The team found out Wednesday where they will play in the NCAA tournament.
“With all the teams there it’s going to be a fight, but there's a chance we could make it to nationals and that's the only thing we’re focused on right now,” said Schmidt, the 2024 Sun Belt Conference player of the year. A-State won an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament after defeating Texas State and the University of Louisiana Monroe last week in match play in the conference tournament at the Annandale Country Club in Madison, Mississippi.
“I definitely made up for it on the next day. I stated the evening before that even though I lost the playoff individual, that we’ll win the conference tournament on the next day. And with the playoff round, did exactly that,” Schmidt said.
