PALO ALTO – Authorities are investigating the armed robbery of a pedestrian in downtown Palo Alto.
An investigation revealed the victim had been walking when he was approached by the suspects, who told him to empty his pockets, police said. One of the men reportedly lifted his sweatshirt to reveal a black handgun tucked into his waistband. The suspects kept two of the victim’s credit cards and walked away eastbound on University Avenue, police said.Police are checking to see if the armed robbery is connected to an earlier cellphone theft.
