Stephen Amell shared a throwback training video from his days working out for Arrow and cheekily wondered if he could still do some of the intense workouts he did for the Arrowverse show.
Arrow star Stephen Amell shared a throwback video to his time training for the series in 2012. Arrow, which is based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow, premiered its first season on The CW in October 2012. It was such a hit that it not only ran for 8 seasons, but also launched an entire family of DC shows on the network called the Arrowverse.
The lead character of Arrow is the wealthy playboy and vigilante hero Green Arrow, also known as Oliver Queen. Queen was played by Stephen Amell, who rocketed to stardom on the back of the character and his newfound status as a sex symbol. As the lead of an action-heavy franchise, the actor had to train hard and his shirtless scenes were another huge draw for many audience members.
Arrow is a series that made such an impact on the world of fandom that it was hard for many viewers to imagine Amell playing any other character. Heels might just be the best follow-up choice for the actor considering that it's a series with a similar balance of drama and action but occupies such a dissimilar sphere in the world of entertainment that it still allows him to stretch his muscles, both proverbially and literally.
