Art Briles Out At Grambling State Less Than 1 Week After Being Hired
The baggage surrounding Briles was well-known, but that didn’t stop Grambling coach Hue Jackson from making the hire last week.
Grambling’s decision received renewed attention on Monday when a three-day old social media statement from the Hue Jackson Foundation gained traction. It was the latest in an avalanche of criticism over the past five days for the prominent HBCU in northern Louisiana. “I don’t know what you get from that statement,” Williams told the AP on Monday. “I don’t think anything needs to be added. Everybody knows what I think about it. I’m not going to change.”
Briles was considered one of the top offensive coaches in the country when he led Baylor from 2008-15, leading the program to a 65-37 record.
