One of the downsides of technology constantly progressing is that sometimes, that bright shiny new thing with cutting-edge features you just bought quickly becomes obsolete. That's never fun, but we imagine it hurts just a little bit more when that obsolescence follows an expensive luxury car purchase. Unfortunately, as of October 31st, 2022 a potentially large number of Lexus owners find themselves in that very situation thanks to the nationwide winddown of 3G communications.
We first caught wind of this when we spotted Twitter user Stanley Roberts share an image from a communication he received stating"Certain 2010-2018 Lexus vehicles will lose all Lexus Enform features and services.
However, according to Lexus, this shutdown of services isn't a sudden development. The automaker says that it began notifying owners of affected vehicles about the shutdown as far back as 2019. Roberts' reaction on Twitter suggests that despite Lexus's best efforts at, ahem,forming customers of the Enform news, a few owners missed the memo.
While transitions like this are to be expected as technology progresses, we can understand if some of the affected owners feel frustrated with the situation. Especially those who own 2018 model year vehicles as they're not all that old. However, with
