We seek an experienced human geneticist to direct a pivotal new population genomics initiative at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
The Sequencing Populations to Accelerate Research and Care program will obtain whole exome sequencing on 150,000 individuals of all ages followed at UT Southwestern and/or its affiliated hospital and partner institutions.
The SPARC Director will work closely with Director of the Center for Human Genetics and with UT Southwestern’s Vice Provosts for Basic and Clinical Research to assure broad ultilization of this important institutional resource. SPARC is fully supported by a public-private industry partnership and includes a generous budget from the institution for project management staff, secondary sequencing analyses, biobanking, computational genomics, and genetic counseling.
This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishment and experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.
