The Associated Press names Denzel Burke, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Cade Stover second-team midseason All-Americans.
The AP named Burke, Harrison and Stover second-team midseason All-Americans for their efforts after seven weeks. Cornerbacks Kool-Aid McKinstry and Kris Abrams-Draine , wide receivers Malik Nabers , Luther Burden III and Rome Odunze and tight end Brock Bowers were selected ahead of them.
Burke has been stellar for Ohio State's defense in 2023. In six appearances this season, quarterbacks have targeted Burke 31 times for 15 receptions and 149 yards. That's good for a 48.9% completion percentage and 4.8 yards per attempt. Burke has recorded five tackles, one tackle for loss, one forced fumble, seven pass breakups and one interception – the first for an Ohio State cornerback since Cam Brown in 2021.
