Brooke Shields, 57, Gets Real About Embracing Her Body With the Help of Her Daughters

The model also added that now that her daughters have grown older, she’s impressed by how much confidence they have in themselves as individuals, too. She noted that in her own youth, she tended to simply agree with everything her own mother said and did because she was “such a force,” but her girls stand strong in their own right.
“They’re so much more mature than I ever was and they’re so much more confident than I ever was. I didn’t learn really who I was until I was in, probably in my 40s,” she said. And as Shields has recently refocused her work to combat ageism and promote self-love for aging women, she opened up about feeling better about herself now more than ever. “I’m so grateful that my body has taken care of me this long,” she said. “It’s given me children, it’s healed from various accidents and surgeries, and I just feel, I think that we talk about that. I feel better in my 50s than I ever did prior.
