The talking heads at Fox News came out against everything conservatives believe about states' rights when they supported Donald Trump's efforts to overturn the Electoral College results; now it's coming back to haunt them.

I must confess that’s not entirely accurate. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. I would much rather look at the shapely legs of some female TV personality than the heads of the males, many of whom are fighting male-pattern baldness.Back in 2013, Roger Ailes biographer Gabriel Sherman reported that an insider at the network told him that “anytime there’s a chance to show off Megyn Kelly’s legs they’ll go for it.

Am I saying you shouldn’t trust Fox News? No, I’m saying you should never trust anything that comes over the boob tube. It’s simple these days to track any assertion back to its source. We conservatives believe the Constitution greatly limits the power of the federal government to tell the states what to do. Trump took the exact opposite view on Jan. 6, 2021. He wanted Congress to award itself the power to pick electors, a power reserved to the states in the Constitution.

We got a glimpse of that strategy three days after Trump’s attempted his coup d’etat. The Democratic Chairman of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, Steve Cohen of Tennessee, announced that he was introducing a resolution to abolish the Electoral College in favor of the popular vote.
