The incident occurred during a primary school’s year-end celebrations when strong winds blew an inflated bouncy castle more than 30 feet into the air.

, four children—two boys and two girls— were reported dead at the location while a fifth child died in the hospital.The incident took place on Thursday morning around 10 am local time in Devonport, located in the northwestern part of Tasmania state.

The victims were participating in their school’s end-of-year celebrations when the tragedy occurred but it is unclear how the inflated castle became airborne. Tasmanian police have not revealed the ages and names of the victims but all of them were year 5 or 6, which means they were likely aged between 10 and 12 years old.

The incident is being investigated by the Tasmanian police and the state’s occupational safety regulator WorkSafe.Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison described the tragedy as “shattering and heartbreaking” and told reporters: “Young children on a fun day out, together with their families and it turns to such a horrific tragedy at this time of year. It just breaks your heart.”
